หลักสูตรเทคโนโลยีชีวภาพ มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าธนบุรี (มจธ.) รับสมัครนักศึกษาเพื่อศึกษาระดับปริญญาโท (วท.ม.) เพื่อเข้าศึกษาต่อปีการศึกษา 1/2555 ตามรายละเอียดของหลักสูตรดังนี้

-นักศึกษาสามารถเลือกแผนกรเรียน ที่เน้นทักษะที่ต่างกันตามความถนัด/สนใจ ดังนี้

1.แผนเน้นทักษะการทำวิจัย เน้นการฝึกฝนให้มีความรู้ลึกซึ้งทั้งในภาคทฤษฎีและทักษะการทำวิจัย ภายใต้การดูแลของอาจารย์ที่ปรึกษาจากกลุ่มวิจัยต่าง ๆ ที่มีมากกว่า 12 กลุ่ม ที่มีงานวิจัยในระดับแนวหน้าของประเทศ

2.แผนทักษะผู้ประกอบการทางธุรกิจเทคโนโลยีชีวภาพ (Biotechnopreneur) เน้นการสร้างมูลค่าให้กับงานวิจัย และนำองค์ความรู้ใหม่ทางด้านเทคโนโลยีชีวภาพมาประยุกต์ใช้และพัฒนาให้เกิดเป็นธุรกิจเทคโนโลยีชีวภาพสมัยใหม่ การเรียนการสอนเป็นแบบ problem-based, Technology-oriented entrepreneurship, Internship กับภาคเอกชน พัฒนาทักษะในการเรียนรู้ การคิด วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลและวางแผนอย่างมีระบบ (รับนักศึกษาระดับปริญญาตรีวิทยาศาตร์ และวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ ทุกสาขา)

3.แผนเน้นทักษะเทคโนโลยีชีวภาพ (Biotechnology Practice School) เพื่อพัฒนาบุคลากรให้เป็นผู้มีความรู้ความสามารถแก้ไขปัญหาในภาคอุตสาหกรรม ที่เน้น การใช้กระบวนการเทคโนโลยีชีวภาพ มีการฝึกทักษะ ค้นคว้าวิจัย เรียนรู้ และแก้ปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้นจริงในโรงงาน

-หลักสูตรจัดการเรียนการสอนเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ เพื่อเป็นการเตรียมพร้อมให้นักศึกษาในการเข้าสู่ตลาดแรงงานเสรีในอาเซียน และจัดให้มีอาจารย์ต่างชาติ ช่วยดูแลนักศึกษาในด้านการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษ

สำนักข่าวต่างประเทศรายงานเมื่อ 15 พ.ค. ว่า เครือข่ายมหาวิทยาลัยโลก “universitas 21″ เผยผลการจัดอันดับ เมื่อวันศุกร์ที่ผ่านมา (11 พ.ค.) ถึงประเทศที่มีการจัดการคุณภาพการศึกษาขั้นสูงได้ดีทั้งหมด 48 ประเทศ ซึ่งวัดจากหลายด้าน ทั้งการวิจัย บรรยากาศในการเรียนการสอน ผลผลิตทางการศึกษา และครอบคลุมถึงความแตกต่างด้านการพัฒนาทางเศรษฐกิจ โดยอันดับ 1 ของเอเชีย คือ สิงคโปร์ อยู่อันดับที่ 11 ของตาราง ได้คะแนน 74.5 จากคะแนนเต็ม 100

ส่วนอันดับ 1 คือ สหรัฐฯ ได้คะแนนเต็ม 100 ตามด้วย สวีเดน ที่มาเป็นอันดับ 2 จาก 83.6 คะแนน อันดับ 3 แคนาดา 82.8 คะแนน อันดับ 4 ฟินแลนด์ 82.0 คะแนน อันดับ 5 เดนมาร์ก 81.0 คะแนน

ISLAMABAD: ถือเป็นครั้งแรกที่นักศึกษาปากีสถานได้รับข้อเสนอทุนการศึกษาในประเทศบราซิล โดยทุนนี้อยู่ภายใต้นักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัยในระดับปริญญาตรี ซึ่งเป็นผลมาจากข้อตกลงความร่วมมือทางวัฒนธรรมระหว่างทั้งสองประเทศ

ในปีนี้ 63 มหาวิทยาลัยบราซิลจะเข้าร่วมในโปรแกรมนี้ (PEC-G ) ถือเป็นโปรแกรมที่มีการจัดหลักสูตรที่หลากหลาย โดยหลักสูตรที่ได้รับความนิยมมากที่สุดในหมู่นักศึกษาต่างชาติ ได้แก่ แพทย์,วิศวกรรม, การบริหารธุรกิจและความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศ

นับตั้งแต่ปี 1960 เป็นต้นมารัฐบาลบราซิลได้เสนอให้ทุนระดับปริญญาตรีกับนักศึกษาจากประเทศกำลังพัฒนาในแอฟริกา, เอเชีย, ลาตินอเมริกาและแคริบเบียน ส่วนในระดับหลังปริญญา หรือ post-graduate เริ่มให้ตั้งแต่ปี 1980 ปัจจุบันมีนักศึกษาอินเตอร์ที่เป็นนักเรียนทุนศึกษาอยู่ในบราซิล ประมาณ 2,700 คนโดยมีพันธะที่จะต้องกลับไปยังประเทศของตนหลังจากจบการศึกษาแล้ว

Alfredo Leoni ทูตบราซิล(ประจำปากีสถาน)เปิดเผยกับ The Express Tribune ว่า การที่นักศึกษาที่จบแล้วเดินทางกลับไปรับใช้ชาติของตน เป็นสิ่งที่แสดงให้เห็นว่า นี่ไม่ใช่โครงการให้ทุนที่ทำให้สมองไหล เพราะวัตถุประสงค์จริง ๆ ของทุนเพื่อช่วยเหลือ หรือสร้างคุณประโยชน์ให้กับประเทศกำลังพัฒนาต่าง ๆ มากว่า

ผู้สมัครสำหรับโครงการทุนการศึกษาจะต้องมีอายุระหว่าง 18-25 ปี และจบการศึกษาในระดับมัธยมศึกษา ผู้สมัครที่อยู่ในปากีสถานที่สนใจสามารถสมัครได้ที่สถานทูตบราซิลจนถึงวันที่ 29 มิ.ย.ศกนี้ โดยทางสถานทูตรมีเจ้าหน้าที่คอยช่วยเหลือในขั้นตอนการสมัคร

แม้ว่าโครงการให้ทุนนี้ที่มีชื่อย่อว่า PEC-G จะไม่รวม ค่าครองชีพ และค่าที่พัก แต่หากนักเรียนที่ไม่สามารถสู้กับค่าใช้จ่ายเหล่านี้ได้ ก็มีทางออกให้โดยสามารถยื่นขอความช่วยเหลือทางการเงินจากโปรแกรมอื่นของบราซิล คือ The Milton Santos Project โดยโปรแกรมนี้จะช่วยด้านการเงินในรูปของเงินเดือนระหว่างที่ใช้ชีวิตในบราซิล

บังกาลอร์: ความพยายามของอินเดียที่จะเป็น”Knowledge Hub” ในเอเชียเร็ว ๆ นี้ส่วแววอาจเป็นจริงขึ้นมาบ้างแล้ว เมื่อการสำรวจที่ผ่านมาได้แสดงให้เห็นว่าอินเดียมียอดลงทะเบียนของนักศึกษาต่างชาติและสถิติด้านความร่วมมือด้านการวิจัยกับนานาชาติมากกว่าจีน

         จากรายงานการศึกษาระดับอุดมศึกษาของอินเดีย ประจำปี 2012 ซึ่งจัดทำโดย Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research  อินเดียแสดงให้เห็นถึงความเหนือกว่าประเทศจีน ในด้านการมีการติดต่อกับนานาชาติ ในด้านของการศึกษา วิจัย ที่เป็นรูปธรรมมากกว่า

         แม้จะได้คะแนนน้อยคือ 19.4  จากเต็ม 100 ก็ตาม แต่อินเดียก็ยังมีมากกว่า จีน, ตุรกี และอิหร่าน ในเรื่องการดึงดูดนักศึกษาต่างชาติและความร่วมมือด้านการวิจัยระหว่างประเทศ โดยที่จีนเองนั้นได้คะแนนเป็นอันดับที่ต่ำที่สุดสำหรับด้านสายสัมพันธ์การศึกษากับนานาชาติ โดยมีคะแนนเพียง 12.8

Prof Ram Singh Nirjar, former chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) กล่าวว่า“การเชื่อมต่อกับนานาชาติเป็นข้อได้เปรียบของเรา เพราะเรามีระบบการศึกษาแบบอังกฤษ ขณะที่การวิจัยของเรามีความร่วมมือที่ดีกับนักวิชาการต่างชาติ อย่างไรก็ตามเราสามารถเพิ่มศักยภาพในเรื่องนี้ได้ขึ้นอีกโดยการให้ทุนการศึกษาเพิ่มเติมให้กับนักเรียนที่ต้องการเรียนที่นี่ “

Eligibility:
-Applicants must have a first-class or high upper second-class honours degree (or equivalent qualification) in history or a relevant discipline and meet the University’s standard English language entry requirements.
-It is expected that applicants should also have a Masters degree with merit or distinction in a relevant discipline or be able to show evidence that they will achieve this before October 2012.
-Applicants should be able to demonstrate a strong interest in research and it is desirable that applicants be proficient in at least one language other than English.

Scholarship Description: The Stanley Burton Centre for Holocaust and Genocide Studies – the oldest Holocaust research centre in the UK – is pleased to offer a scholarship for October 2012 entry to its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme. The scholarship will pay full-time University UK/EU tuition fees for three years (pro-rata for part-time study).

Eligibility:

In order to be eligible to apply for a scholarship you must be a new, full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught degree international student with a minimum course duration of 1 year, and must have applied for the course of your choice at the University of Brighton, and have been offered a place on that course for 2012 entry. Students studying foundation degrees or undergraduate degrees at University of Brighton partner colleges are not eligible for these awards. Existing international students are not eligible unless starting a new undergraduate or postgraduate programme.

Scholarship Description: In 2012, 40 University of Brighton international scholarships worth a reduction of £4,000 off the cost of your tuition fees for each year of your course are available to new, full-time international undergraduate and postgraduate taught degree students.
