Doctoral Dual Degree Program (SIIT-JAIST)

The Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (HERE) and Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) are offering a dual degree doctoral program in area of Service Science which includes various participating fields in Engineering and Technology such as:
Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Technology, Engineering Management, Electronic & Communication, Knowledge Science, and Service Science.
Successful applicants will be enrolled as full-time students at SIIT and JAIST for the duration of four years; the 1st and 3rd year will be spent at SIIT while the 2nd and 4th year at JAIST. Full scholarships will be offered automatically for the two years of studying at JAIST. Other scholarships and funding sources are available for the two years at SIIT. The program will start in October 2012. This dual doctoral degree is named as followed.

From JAIST : Doctor of Philosophy (Knowledge Science) or Doctor of Philosophy (Information Science)

From SIIT : Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering and Technology
This dual degree program is co-found by National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (HERE), Thammasat University. These four parties agree to develop Ph.D. in the area of Service Science. The program website is located here.

Eligibility
Eligible applicants must have completed a master’s degree in Engineering or Science or related fields with very good academic record and/or thesis experience; or must be a current/former master’s degree student of SIIT with at least one international journal publication; or must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50.

Dates Events
Now-17 August 2012   Application period.
22 August 2012 Applications are submitted to JAIST. JAIST will inform professors.
3 September 2012 JAIST will confirm whether an applicant can contact a professor or not.
4-13 September 2012 Applicants contact professors
14 September 2012 Applicant acceptance letter/email is submitted.
17-28 September 2012 Applicants will be interviewed.
10 October 2012 Result announcement.
